قال الله عز و جل : { وَجَاء مِنْ أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَى قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اتَّبِعُوا الْمُرْسَلِينَ } ، ( سورة يس : 20 ) . الرجل الذي جاء من أقصى المدينة هو حبيب النجار مؤمن آل يس . وعلى أية حال، فليس في حديث الصلوات الخمس ما يفيد أن من حافظ عليهن ولم ينتقص منهن شيئا، أنه يدخل الجنة بغير حساب أو مع أول الداخلين، فقد يُعذَّب بكبيرة اقترفها ثم يكون مآله إلى الجنة، وقد جاء. ، فأراد عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص رضي الله عنهما أن يعرف ما الذي يتميز به هذا الرجل ولهذا فقد طلب منه أن يقيم معه في منزله 3 أيام ، وأوجد لذلك عذرا). وسمح له الرجل بأن يقيم معه.
