I have a newbie who started modeling a part on the default template which as you know uses mm as the default units Smart dimensions are in millimeters, but when i need to evaluate only in meters I don't want to redraw the part from scratch on a inches template
How do i scale the part & set the correct template I tried to change to inch, centimeters, milimeters, but only show milimeters I have created a model with units in inches, now i want to convert it to mm without changing the values (ie 25in +25mm)
I have searched over the options but i couldn't find it.
I do not want to change the entire document dual display to meters, however, since most of the dimensions in inches/millimeters which i want I tried going to override units since this is only a select few dimensions that i need to change to meters, but i did not see a way to change the dual dimension, only the primary. Inches are my primary units I want dual dimensions to display units mm for millimeters for the secondary dimension, but not in for inches on the primary dimension.
Hello all, i need to create a drawing with dual dimensions, the units system for the drawing is mmgs because the customer wants inspection done in millimeters, while dimensions in inches are needed for our machinists Here's a mockup drawing showing the issue on my system where dual dimensioning works for linear dimensions on the left, but on the right where i have dual dimensions turned on. I have my units set to ips, but my sketches show meters on the dimensions, but when i double click to change a dim, it shows inches for the input (see screenshots). For a particular drawing, i would like the primary units set to inches and the dual units set to feet and inches (somewhat unorthodox, i know.)
My default dual units are millimeters.
I have changed all the document and default document properties to inches but it still keeps my solidworks import in mm All it is doing is showing mm diminsion with the at the end. I have all my dimensions set to ips, but when i click on a line in a part, sketch, or assembly it shows up as mm on the bottom right hand of the screen Any ideas on how to fix this
It just started with the recent update last week. I need to measure in millimiters, but the program only show in meters
